LSM PARTNERSHIP

Our collaboration with Louvain School of Management gave us the opportunity to establish a Kronos Group Chair in Strategic Sourcing and Procurement in 2017, a unique procurement specialisation in Belgium. Our objective is to promote research and education in procurement while transforming the procurement function into a value-generating, strategic profession. What is it for? Activities linked to procurement management and supplier’s development and monitoring are becoming increasingly strategic in the management and development of a company. New technologies and tighter deadlines imposed on the introduction of new products have only reinforced this trend. In addition, a lack of knowledge and training opportunities in the field of procurement poses a real challenge when it comes to the recruitment and performance of procurement executives. Until now, no curriculum dedicated to the field of procurement existed in Belgium, forcing companies looking to hire procurement executives to recruit abroad. Kronos Group, as a leader in procurement services, wanted to change this trajectory and create opportunities to train future procurement experts. What does this entail? The chair programme consists of 90 hours of courses in strategic sourcing and procurement. Courses are carried out in English and are currently open to 150 students in business engineering, business management, and CEMS. Visit our LinkedIn profile or uclouvain.be for more information.

Partnership - ABCAL

In 2015, KRONOS GROUP started a sponsorship program with ABCAL This collaboration aims at promoting and professionalizing the procurement function and developing the network in Belgium. In this context, KRONOS GROUP co-creates various events such as JCAL and business lunches everywhere in Belgium about the latest procurement trends on the market. In 2017, the hot topic was about “The value creation in non-strategic purchases”.             A pragmatic 7 steps methodology was presented along with business cases experienced at customer’s premises and concrete example in order to book savings while adding value to their business on a 3 to 6 months’ timeframe. All participants were able to expose their own commodities and come back at work with concrete best practices and ideas for improvement. In 2018, we are pleased to invite our clients to 5 business lunches about the digitalization of procurement, commonly known as “Procurement 4.0”. During these sessions, we carefully listen to the needs of our clients and exchange experiences as well as best practices on procurement excellence and transformation in order to get the benefits from this revolution and bring procurement departments to the next level. Don’t hesitate to consult our page “Event” and follow us on LinkedIn to be the first to know when and where we will held our next sessions. Stay tuned for more information: Linkedin or abcal.org
